Meanwhile Ozil returns to the side, making his first Premier League start since the middle of September. Pepe has been the other man to miss out, with Torreira replacing Xhaka in midfield.

Wolves were also in action in midweek in the EFL Cup, but they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa. They have secured 1-1 draws in their last two Premier League games, against Southampton and Newcastle, they currently sit 12th in the table.

Arsenal suffered a penalty shoot-out defeat against Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Wednesday. They are winless in their last two Premier League games, they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Sheffield United, before a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday, to drop down to fifth in the table.
