1′ We’re underway in this Champions League clash.

Spurs met Red Star in the last 16 of the 1972-73 UEFA Cup, winning 2-0 at White Hart Lane and losing 1-0 away but progressing 2-1 on aggregate.

Red Star have won their last six matches on the bounce, but have made four changes to their side that beat Rad Beograd in their last outing. Borjan replaces Popovic between the sticks, while Degenek comes into the backline. Jose Canas gets the start in the midfield and Van La Parra starts on the wing.

Tottenham have made four changes to their side from their draw last time out against Watford. Davies comes into the side at left-back to replace Danny Rose. Ndombele gets the nod to start alongside Sissoko in the middle of the park, while Son and Lamela are in in the final third to support Kane.

RED STAR BELGRADE SUBS: Zoran Popovic, Mirko Ivanovic, Milan Pavkov, Srdjan Babic, Jander, Njegos Petrovic, Aleksa Vukanovic.

RED STAR BELGRADE (4-2-3-1): Milan Borjan; Marko Gobeljic, Milos Degenek, Nemanja Milunovic, Milan Rodic; Jose Canas, Milos Vulic; Mateo Garcia, Marko Marin, Rajin van La Parra; Tomane.

TOTTENHAM SUBS: Harry Winks, Eric Dier, Giovani Lo Celso, Juan Foyth, Christian Eriksen, Lucas Moura, Brandon Austin.

TOTTENHAM (4-2-3-1): Paulo Gazzaniga; Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen, Ben Davies; Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele; Erik Lamela, Dele Alli, Son Heung-min; Harry Kane.

Red Star have a huge opportunity to stick the boot into Tottenham tonight and extend their lead over Pochettino’s men to five points. They were beaten convincingly by Bayern in their opening match of the group stage, but bounced back to stage a comeback win over Olympiacos last time out. Ruben Semedo had put the Greek team ahead, but second-half goals from Milos Vulic, Nemanja Milunovic and Richmond Boakye secured a vital victory for the Serbian outfit.

Tottenham are in dire need of a response tonight after their 7-2 drubbing at the hands of Bayern Munich in the last round of fixtures. They’re two points off the pace of Red Star in second place in Group B following their defeat and the pressure has been on Mauricio Pochettino to find a cure to his side’s woes. Spurs needed a late Dele Alli strike at the weekend to avoid a loss to the Premier League’s bottom side Watford. A performance to lift the mood around the club has to come to ease the stress on the Argentine.

Good evening and welcome to the Champions League clash between Tottenham and Red Star Belgrade at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
