VIDEO: Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James struggle with their Manchester United initiation songs, while Scott McTominay shines

The new signings certainly won’t be getting record contracts anytime soon, but the Scottish midfielder definitely hit the right key

Manchester United new boys Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James have proved that sometimes footballers should stick to their skill set on the pitch.

During their initiation to their Red Devils teammates during a dinner on the Australian pre-season tour, both players were required to get up on stage and belt out a song.

But Man Utd fans will be hoping their on-field performances are better than their singing voices, after their acts sent teammates into hysterics.

Wan-Bissaka, who joined from Crystal Palace for £50 million ($63m), struggled to get into rhythm with his version of rapper Nav’s ‘Tap’, as he spoke the words while reading them off a mobile phone.

James didn’t fare much better as the £15m ($19m) signing from Swansea also left the Red Devils players amused after an attempt at singing Uncle Kracker’s ‘Follow Me’.

The duo were eventually upstaged by an incredible performance from Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay, who crooned out an outstanding effort at ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ by Bill Withers that sent the crowd wild.

Manchester United are currently in Australian city Perth as they prepare for their first friendly match of the pre-season against A-League premiers Perth Glory.

The tour has so been overshadowed by speculation surrounding the futures of stars Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, with coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisting that no bids have been received for the duo and they are not for sale.

The Norwegian also denied there was a spat between Pogba and Jesse Lingard, suggesting there was a media agenda against the French World Cup winner.

Following the Glory match, United will take on old rivals Leeds United in Perth on July 17 before journeying north to south-east Asia to continue their tour.

They will then meet Inter in Singapore on July 20 and Tottenham in Shanghai five days later as part of the International Champions Cup.

United’s Premier League campaign begins at Old Trafford against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea on August 11.
